Don't let it be One Decision too late
I sit here sewing and almost like in a haste, my attention was drawn from my work and to the last day of our existence on earth. I started thinking about the people who are not preparing themselves for God's return. People who are constantly putting off service to God and taking up other things that are temporary. Things that takes away from salvation.
Isn't it time for us to put away the things in our lives that we have unconsciously or deliberately chosen to replace God?
Yes, the ungodly things that we enjoy. The things that are so sweet to the flesh but yet they set up the soul for destruction.
If I were to edit the above paragraph and replace the word "thing" with the word "gods" then one would understand how serious the consequences of our actions are when we do not glorify "THE ONE AND TRUE LIVING GOD"
In Exodus 20:2-3 God reintroduced himself to the Israelites. He was their God and the one who delivered them from Egypt. He was in no way showing off but they had to be reminded, not just to give thanks for what he had done but to know that he, their God, will always be their deliverer. Because of that fact, they should have no need of any other god. Their entire dependency should be placed on him. He charged them well and he is still charging us today with the same command, "Thou shalt have no other gods before me."
Lets focus on Joshua for a short while. He had his eyes fixed on God. He witnessed punishment led by disobedience and he experienced victory that could have only been possible through being obedient to God. In this present moment, we Christians, need to adopt a mentality like Joshua and let everyone around us know that we have decided to serve God.
In Revelation we read the description of the place where lost souls will spend eternity. Who wants to go there? No one.
To avoid going to such a place we have to make a decision today before its too late.
It is not good enough that we are being careless with our souls after Jesus himself came in flesh, endured and rose above Satan's temptations with the word of God.
My hope is that you will pause for a while and examine your life as I do the same. Lets look at the details and figure out if we are serving God or if we need to make the decision to do so. May you be blessed.
I pray that we get to the point where we fear God and decide to serve him in sincerity and truth. May we always look to him to provide our needs and put away the gods that we have chosen to replace him. Lord forgive us for not keeping our eyes fixed on you. Renew our minds Lord, that we may think like your servant Joshua and make the conscious decision to serve you only. Father I humbly present my request to you in Jesus name. Amen
Yours in Christ,
